TRANSCRIPT:
(00:00) We are all ready for the new year and here are three videos that you absolutely must make in early January, January 15th at the very latest. And here's why. Hey everyone, I'm Kim Rittberg. I'm an award-winning marketer, former exec at me at places like People and Netflix. And now I'm committed to helping you grow your impact through video and podcasts.
(00:20) So, when we're talking about what we should be making for the new year, I have three really great ideas that are totally doable for you. The first one is reintroducing yourself to your followers. The truth is we live in this very attention starved economy and people are scrolling and they're not paying that much attention.
(00:35) And unless it's like your best friend or your mom, they don't know that much about what you do. Truly, honestly. So, one thing to start with is a video about you. And I don't just mean like, "Hi, my name is I grew up here." I mean a really focused video that tells people who you are, who you help, and what is unique about you that they should work with you.
(00:57) So, I teach this for an elevator pitch I call the ABC method. So, whenever you're introducing yourself to someone, A B C, make sure to include your accomplishments, B for business, and C for confidence. I'll go into that a little bit more. So, accomplishments is really, really establishing why someone should trust you.
(01:14) Why should they work with you? Whether you're a coach, a consultant, a real estate agent, a consultant that I said that already, a CEO, why should somebody work with you? So, accomplishments can be any sort of thing that helps you stand out. It could be your certification. It could be a place that featured you. It could be client wins. It really a lot of things.
(01:32) So, depending on your industry, something that is social proof. The second part is be business. Be super clear about what you do. That might seem obvious, but honestly, it's not. I used to work in media and I'd get pitched all the time for people who wanted to be on TV and seem like an expert, but I would have to be digging through their paragraph to actually understand what they do.
(01:52) So, when people say, "I make your life so much better." I'm like, great. Are you my therapist? Are you a dentist? Are you a toy store worker? So, really be super specific on what you do and who you help. So, let's get a your accomplishments, b your business, and then c confidence. We are delivering this on video.
(02:13) And you absolutely have to be super committed to the information you're sharing. You have to love your business. You have to love your clients. And that feeling and that energy needs to come onto the screen. So, we have the video about you. The second video I want you to be making is a prediction for the new year.
(02:30) I don't think you're a clairvoyant. I don't think you know everything. But the truth is if you are an expert in your field, and if you don't think you're an expert, fake it. Uh just kidding. But if you're don't think you're an expert, you shouldn't be doing what you do. So we need to work on that confidence a little bit.
(02:43) But you do what you do, right? Whether you're a founder, a coach, a consultant, an agent, whatever you're doing, you have a lot of knowledge. So I want you to think about what are the trends you've been seeing? What are you reading about? What do you think is going to keep growing in the new year? I want you to make a video about that.
(03:00) What I think is going to be happening in 2026. And I know people get really wary about making predictions, but again, you're really couching it in your experience and your knowledge. You're never going to say like this is exactly what's going to happen. I'm a psychic. But you want people to understand that you have a perspective and your perspective is based upon your professional experience.
(03:20) So video number one is about me. Video number two is your predictions. And video number three is a client win. A client win is the best sort of video you can be making. Why? It is social proof. It is a client telling you how amazing you are. It is a client telling the world how amazing you are. It does so much.
(03:42) So, what you're going to do is you're going to ask a client who you helped, right? You're going to ask a client you helped. You're going to have them speak on behalf of how you helped them, what you did for them, but really specifically, what transformation did you advance? They came to you with this problem and they left with this solution.
(03:59) You made this part of their life or their business so much better, easier, more enriching, whatever the outcome is, but make sure it's very, very, very clear. Right? Those are the three videos you absolutely should be making as this new year comes in. I would love you to drop in the comments below which you're going to be making. And if you actually have made them already, make sure to link it in the comments below.
(04:18) I'd love to see it and cheer you on. Again, my name is Kim Rittberg. I am a video coach for business owners and I love helping you shine both on camera and off.
