When I ask a room full of real estate agents, “Raise your hand if you’ve gotten leads from social media,” half the hands go up. But when I ask, “How many of you are showing your face on video twice a month?” — those hands start to drop fast.

Here’s the truth: 90% of buyers want to work with an agent who uses video. And agents who use video get up to 400% more inquiries. Let that sink in — 400%!

I’ve trained thousands of agents across the country, and spoken at massive real estate conferences like Inman, The California Association of Realtors and the Women’s Council of Realtors.

Video isn’t just a marketing tactic. It’s a trust accelerator. It shows your expertise, your personality, and how you show up for your clients. Robots love it (and by robots I mean the “algorithms” because every platform rewards video by giving you more reach and exposing you to more people. Humans love it because it builds connection.

Think about it: Who would you rather hire?

  • Agent A: Polished headshot, two lines of text.

  • Agent B: Walking through your neighborhood, sharing her favorite coffee spot, schnoodle doodle in tow.

We all know the answer.

You’re not just selling homes. You’re selling yourself.

And video gives people the chance to know you, like you, and trust you before they even meet you.

If you hate being on camera, I get it. I’ve coached agents who would rather get a root canal than be on camera all the way to people who would love to star in their own reality tv show.

Confidence is a skill. And every skill can be learned.

Start small. Show up once a week. Be imperfect. Be human.

Because when you stop overthinking, you start owning your voice — and that’s when your business grows.
